Alcohol, Drug and Gambling Prevention Services
Alcohol drug abuse and gambling prevention services are provided for Erie County residents through Preferred Systems, Inc. The Alcohol and Drug Program objectives include reduction of alcohol and other drug abuse and criminality while increasing employment, educational achievement and health. In addition to the programs listed below.
Prevention Services Objectives
- Changes in awareness, reduction, knowledge and attitudes about alcohol, drug and gambling problems among youth, parents, and the community-at-large.
- Support for changes in environmental factors including availability of alcohol and drug-free social and recreational activities.

- Video Library: The video library contains videos on alcohol, drug and gambling education and is being upgraded on a monthly basis. Videos can be signed out for various periods of time depending on the need.
- If you would like printed substance abuse materials call 814-456-0406. Any agency or organization needing large quantities of printed materials (more then 10) should contact one of the following organizations:
- National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information provides books, reports, pamphlets, newsletters, posters, videos, etc. in both English and Spanish. Nearly all items are available free of charge and can either be ordered online or through the Publications Catalog which is also free of charge.
- Pennsylvania Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs also provides books, reports, newsletters, posters, videos in both English and Spanish through The Resource Center. Nearly all items are free of charge and are often similar to those available through the National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information website.
